KARLA DIAZ

Karla Diaz is a multidisciplinary artist and educator who engages in painting, social practice, and performance. By using narrative to explore identity and memory, she generates collaboration and dialogue among diverse communities. 

JAKE FRELICH

Jake Freilich is an artist and educator who lives and works in Los Angeles. He received a BA from Bard College and an MFA from University of Southern California. He makes paintings that explore paint’s history, utility, and capacity for movement.

PEARL C. HSIUNG

Pearl C. Hsiung is an artist and educator living and working in Los Angeles. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at CSULB and her recent large-scale tile mosaic commission “High Prismatic” is on view at the Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill LAMetro station in downtown Los Angeles.

DEBRA SCACCO

Debra Scacco’s 25+ year research-based practice examines cartography as an exercise of power. Her work lives at the intersection of ecology, history and policy; in the uncomfortable space where everything is connected.

ARTISTS FROM BORREGO SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL

This year, nearly 40 artists from Borrego Springs High School participated in a series of art workshops led by Jake Freilich to create an exhibition for the Candlewood Arts Festival.
