Start your day at Christmas Circle to find a map of all the works created for the 3rd Annual Candlewood Arts Festival, including sculpture, performance, and a gallery exhibition located throughout the desert community of Borrego Springs.

Let your imagination run free in this drop-in, hands-on clay workshop. Guided by teaching artists from the Borrego Art Institute and Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, you will bring your vision of what a catfish might look like in the future to life using air-dry clay.

Join us at the Borrego Springs High School Community Room for a lively conversation about art, community, and the environment with the artists of this year’s Candlewood Arts Festival.

Join us as we celebrate the artists of the 2022 Candlewood Arts Festival. The reception will take place at the Candlewood Arts Festival Gallery at The Mall, which features Desert Rats, an exhibition of newly created work by artists from Borrego Springs High School, produced with the guidance of artist and educator Jake Freilich this winter.

Join us for an outdoor screening of a special video program inspired by Alison Saar’s Catfish Dreamin.’  Saar selected works by Carolina Caycedo, Carmina Escobar with Wesam Nassar, and Kate Lain to join her own recent video that helps us imagine traversing the waterways with a catfish as our guide. We will be viewing the works at dusk in the amphitheater in the County Park just behind the Borrego Springs Public Library.
