Pearl C Hsiung explores our complex relationship with nature and the environment through a series of workshops with the youth of Borrego Springs, culminating in an art making event open to the public during the Festival.
Hsiung will produce a sculptural installation for Galleta Meadows, entitled Holocene Screen, incorporating the work produced during these workshops, creating a kaleidoscopic view of the deep and varied ties that bind us all to the Anza Borrego Desert.
Special thanks to Wendy Weihls; Boys and Girls Club of Borrego Springs, especially Ricardo Fuentes; Borrego Art Institute, especially Joan Anson; Martha Deichler, Justine Smiley, and the Borrego Unified School District; and the many adults and youth who participated in workshops to make this piece possible.
